Buffalo Bills & Mother Cabrini Health Foundations Come Through for FVRx

>> June 24, 2021

The Buffalo Bills Foundation provided a $25,000 grant to produce nutrtion information sheets that featured a Bills Player each week, making it a football collectors item worth keeping.

The other side of this piece includes a fruit or vegetable of the week along with nutritional information and a recipe. (You can see each week’s recipe in Allison’s Kitchen)

Our long-standing partner in FVRx is the Community Health Center of Buffalo. And, just recently, due to another grant of $46,000 for our greenhouse expansion project from the Mother Cabrini Health Foundation, we were able to expand the program’s reach to another site – Niagara Street Pediatrics – increasing our distribution of fresh, locally grown and nutritious food to 75,000 individuals!

Food Box Delivery in the

Neighborhood

>> June 8, 2020

Buffalo Go Green and Urban Fruits & Veggies, in partnership with the Buffalo Urban League, Harmac Medical Products and The Buffalo Peacemakers are pleased to work together to help residents and families of the Bailey Green Initiative neighborhood stay healthy as we all begin to re-open Western New York from the pandemic shutdown.

On Tuesday, June 9, we will be delivering one box of fresh fruits and vegetables to every Bailey Green residence. That’s 321 boxes of delicious, healthy produce, that’s going to be delivered directly to each home – at no cost.

Special thanks to Allison DeHonney of Urban Fruits and Veggies, and Buffalo Go Green, Inc., Bailey Green Partners, for securing the grant which made this fresh produce available.

We are proud to work together to provide safety, health and opportunity for our Bailey Green neighbors. Our deliveries should start at 1:30 pm and we will be meeting with our volunteer delivery folks on the corner of East Ferry and Zenner Streets.
